Protecting children and vulnerable adults in our community
“The care and protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults involved in church activities is the responsibility of the whole church.”
William Temple Church is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We follow the safeguarding policies and practices of the Church of England and the Diocese of Manchester.
Everyone who participates in the life of the church has a role to play in promoting a Safer Church for all. We take all concerns seriously and will respond appropriately to any allegation or concern.
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child, young person, or vulnerable adult, please follow these steps:
All concerns are taken seriously and will be handled sensitively. You will be kept informed of actions taken where appropriate.
All staff and volunteers working with children or vulnerable adults undergo a thorough recruitment process.
We ensure appropriate DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks are in place for all relevant roles.
All volunteers receive appropriate safeguarding training and regular updates.
We have clear guidelines for appropriate behaviour when working with children and vulnerable adults.
